DANVILLE — Plainfield High School senior Jason Morrison has created the winning logo for the Hendricks County Substance Abuse Task Force.
Organization administrator Christa Detzel told members she had contacted area high school art teachers looking for students willing to create a logo.
“We ended up with about six really good entries,” Detzel said. “We’ve chosen Jason’s as the winning logo.” Morrison was presented with a certificate and gift certificate for his winning entry during the task force’s meeting Wednesday. “Justine Thompson asked me if I would be interested in designing a logo,” Morrison said. “I had created a logo for a talent show. I’m very excited about this logo.” He said he was inspired by professional graphic artist Shepphard Ferry.
“He works with a lot of circular designs,” he said. “I could have come out with more detail but I think it turned out fairly decent.” Morrison said he is planning to enter the profession of graphic design. He’s been accepted into the Herron School of Art at IUPUI. “I’m pretty excited about school and living downtown,” he said. The Hendricks County Substance Abuse Task Force will be using the logo in all of its publications and promotional efforts.
